Young, gifted and….er… European. That’s me. Apparently. But what does it really mean to be European? Can some seven hundred million people from the Atlantic to the Urals and from Lapland to the fringes of the Magreb really claim to have anything in common? Moreover these seven hundred million do the the oddest things. And as the thoroughbred mongrels that we are on this island, we like to laugh. At them.

A modern languages graduate of the highest calibre (:-s), I’ve spent the past 24 years making the most of the benefits of living in the EU without giving a lot back. Now’s my time.

I’ll be drawing on my travels and tribulations from all over this bizarre land to explore the facts, foibles, myths and legends surrounding the idea of Europe and what it means to be European at the start of the 21t century.
